African Tulip tree – Spathodea campanulata
Family: Bignoniaceae
Description: A robust tree up to 20m tall. Compound leaves have 9-17 pairs of leaves. Leaflets are 12cm long to 8cm wide. Flowers are large and bell-shaped, up to 12cm long, 5-lobed and colored scarlet-crimson.
Distribution: Native to Africa, widely cultivated in the Philippines
Economic Importance: Ornamental tree grown in parks, big gardens, along roadsides.

Hi Benjie! There are plenty of mature African tulip trees growing in parks, avenues, and residential lots in the Philippines. It is a prolific seed producer with seeds that easily germinate. A seed pod could contain a thousand seeds with very high germination potential.
