Gayai – Ormosia macrodisca
Family: Fabaceae/Papilionaceae
Description: A small tree with attractive yellowish-reddish compound leaves while young that turn glossy bright green when mature.
Distribution: Philippines (Camarines, Lanao, Basilan), Malesia, Peninsular Malaysia, Sulawesi, West Java, Borneo.
Habitat: Found in forests from 100 to 900 m altitude.
Economic Importance: An ornamental tree which may be recommended for parking lots, sidewalks, parks.
