Foxtail palm – Woodyetia bifurcata

Family: Palmae/Arecaceae

Description: Slender gray solitary palm with a canopy of 8-10 leaves. Leaves are pinnately compound, arching, with several hundred fishtail leaflets attached in ranks. Inflorescence are branched and born beneath the crownshaft. Fruits are red.

Distribution: Native to Northern Australia

Plant Requirements: Moderate-high light requirements. Has a moderate drought tolerance.

Economic Importance: Ornamental plant used as a specimen tree.
