   For the distribution of planting materials for native tree species, nurseries must be established in key development centers: Metro Manila, Davao and Cebu. A dictionary of native names of plants with pictures like the one above will develop better appreciation. The pictures should not only show the plant as a whole, it should show close ups of the the leaf, flower and bark. Bayong as we call in Bisaya is a very beautiful wood furniture. It was favorite wood for furniture during the prewar days as those furnitures that came from my grandmother were made of bayong.
